We’re proud to announce our latest release: Teachable Moments by Mary Snyder. An educator for almost 30 years, Mary has worked as a teacher and middle school counselor in public and private schools. She started writing in response to the question, “What do you do all day?” And when she started jotting down some of her more memorable experiences, she realized she had the makings of a book.
Teachable Moments is an eye-opener for anyone who wonders what students and teachers face—not just in the classroom, but in the lunchroom, halls and playground. Today’s students deal with the most complex human issues, proving that schools are microcosms of the larger world.
Mary’s original intent was to write a book for parents, but Teachable Moments also is valuable for fellow educators, and for students who want to enter the field of education. And anyone concerned about education will gain an in-depth perspective about the delicate balance educators and families face.
What does Mary hope readers will gain from the book? “I hope they’re educated about schools,” Mary says, “enlightened about the many great things teaches and students are doing, and entertained from some of the more lighthearted moments in the book.” For more about Mary and the book, visit teachablemomentsbook.com.
